Child benefit without a traditional application: the plan for 2027
The Kindergeld procedure is intended to become simpler. In certain cases, payments could start without the traditional form. The change does not yet apply to all families.

Two-stage introduction
- In spring 2027, initially for families already receiving Kindergeld.
- Towards the end of 2027, also for a first child if the technical and residence conditions are met.
- Familienkasse will continue to check eligibility.
Current applications
Until the new procedure is actually introduced, parents must follow the current process and respond to Familienkasse requests.
